PASTOR JAKE WEIDO
AND FAMILY
Jake was born in Burleson, Texas. He grew up in a church planter’s home and always had a heart for starting and planting churches. Jake attended Champion Baptist College where he met his wife Ariel. Jake and Ariel served at churches in Louisiana and Arkansas. It was in Louisiana where the Lord began to burden their hearts for the Cajun people. In 2019, Jake felt compelled by God to start a church in Southern Louisiana. After a few trips to the Lafayette area it did not take long for Jake and Ariel to fall in love with Lafayette and its wonderful people. After a year of planning and preparation, the Weido family moved to Lafayette in the summer of 2021 to start the Gospel Light Baptist Church. Jake and Ariel have three children Deacon, Gunnar, and McKinley.

It has been an honor to be a part of Lafayette for the last year and we want to celebrate our anniversary with you. On August 7th at 11:00 am, we will be having a refreshing service, a Bible message, and a complimentary meal for everyone! We will have bounce houses available for kids, and a gift for all the families in attendance.
